Triton Poker 2023 Special NLH Cash Game Part III: Results and Analytics

Last updated: 2/18/2024

By: Michael Lee

During the Triton Poker 2023 Series in Vietnam, the showrunners put on an action packed lineup of feared crushers at the poker table for a five episode saga of nosebleed cash game action. The blinds of the show was $500/$1,000/$1,500 with the regular straddle to $4000 throughout the night. The game played stayed at No Limit Texas Holdem for the entire five episode cash game series.

Chris Brewer finally makes his Triton Poker cash game debut after being a long-standing regular at the same showrunner's high roller tournaments all around the world. Brewer most notably cashed $600,647 as the 2nd place finisher in the $25,000 + $1,500 NLH Triton London High Roller Series, as well as $770,000 as the 7th place finisher in the $200,000 + $12,000 NLH Tournament at the same event.

Phil Nagy just recently began appearing on Triton Poker broadcasted cash games after his debut this past July at the 2023 Special NLH Game Part II. Afterwards, he appeared in the 2023 Million Dollar Cash Game hosted by Triton Poker during their London series where he notably lost a $1.8 million pot against Santhosh Survana.

Aaron Zang, Vivian Yang, and Anson Ewe are well-known Triton Poker regulars who have appeared in a large number of events that the showrunners have put on. Aaron Zang has appeared on 20 episodes of Triton Poker cash games dating back to the Jeju 2019 event that held big names such as Tom Dwan, Jean-Robert Bellande and Andrew Robl.

Linus Loeliger's unexpected appearance on the Triton Poker cash games broadcast marked a significant return to the scene, as he had been absent from such games for nearly four years. The last time he made waves in this arena was during the Montenegro 2019 NLH cash game. This extended absence raised questions within the poker community about whether renowned players and GTO experts like Linus would still have access to invite-only nosebleed cash games. However, his participation in this latest broadcast effectively addressed and answered those lingering inquiries.

Episode 1 Recap:

The five episode saga admittedly started off pretty slow with players beginning to enter the game and get situated for what ended up being an exciting session of nosebleed cash game action. Stakes began at $500/$1,000/$1,500 and the game played was No Limit Texas Holdem.

One of the most interesting hands of this episode was when Linus limped in position of Jason Koon with an unorthodox hand of 7♥️5♣️ which led to a near $70,000 pot. This hand occurs at 26:55 in the first episode video.

If any player at the table was capable of pulling off a bluff in this situation, it was likely Linus as his reputation is that of fearless aggression. Eventually, Jason Koon decides his hand is too weak to bluff-catch and folds.
